Grammy Awards 2017

Do you just give the award to someone else?

At this year’s 59th Grammy Awards, the nominees for Album Of The Year were, Adele, Beyonce, Justin Beiber, Drake and Sturgill Simpson. Now, there is a process how this selection was done, but do you have a choice to give it away if you win?

The biggest award of the Grammys for album of the year was given to Adele, for “25,” rather than to Beyonce for “Lemonade” . But Adele did to herself what Kanye infamously did to Taylor Swift at the 2009 Video Music Award show. “I can’t possibly accept this award,” she said. “The ‘Lemonade’ album was just so monumental”.

Maybe Macklemore’s stomach churned as he remembered the backlash he had received after he bested Kendrick Lamar in the 2014 Grammy Awards’ best rap album contest and then Instagrammed a photo of an apology text he sent to Lamar. “You got robbed,” it read. “I wanted you to win. You should have this. It’s weird and sucks that I robbed you. I was gonna say that during the speech. Then the music started playing during my speech, and I froze.”

I’ll Take It..if you want to give it away.
