Who We Are

"Our store is best described as a friendly neighborhood music store," says Brad Nelson, owner of GuitarZone. "In a time when the music instrument business is becoming increasingly mass marketed, we believe that buying a guitar should be a personal experience."

GuitarZone offers a unique and original shopping experience.  As soon as you walk in the store, you know there's something special about this place.  There are no overbearing sales clerks looking over your shoulder and you don't have to be afraid to ask to play an instrument.  With a knowledgeable sales staff (Ron, Pappy, & Tim) led by our manager (Daniel Hedberg), there's always someone ready to answer your questions, help you make a selection, or just talk "shop." Trade-ins are welcome and most repairs are done onsite.

GuitarZone is also a great place for beginning guitarists. With an outstanding lesson program and experienced instructors, GuitarZone gives encouragement and support to those just starting with the instrument.  Lessons are offered for children and adults in guitar, bass, and percussion.

We strive to make GuitarZone a comfortable place to shop. Whether you are an experienced musician, a first-time novice, or a parent considering a new instrument for your child, we know you will enjoy the store. Please stop by and say hello.  We'd love to meet you and we invite you to: "Come in and Play!"

Here are some recent emails we've received that capture our philosophy at GuitarZone:

Hey,

I just wanted to relay to you about a truly POSITIVE experience my son, Kyle, a Kindergartener, and I had at your GuitarZone store in Blaine, MN. Late Friday I finally had time to get our Taylor 410, purchased at the 'Zone in July of '06, some new strings. I've been kicking around the idea of trying some Elixir Phosphor Bronze for something different.

Anyways, our closest music store in Elk River was closed. I was bummed, as I was fired up for some happy new string tones. So in a flash I thought about making a run to your store. I thought maybe they'll be open. On the drive, I told Kyle, "Have you ever noticed how the car goes faster on the way to the guitar store?"

Upon arrival, we saw the "Closed" sign hanging up.  BIG TIME BUMMER! In the lot someone was leaving in their car. They looked at us and I thought, well maybe they know where Guitar Center is. I'll ask.

Well, lo and behold, in our conversation, not only did he show me strings, but he said, "I'll open up so we can get what you want!"  Wow, here it is Friday evening 6:45 ish, and an employee, who must have some kind of weekend plans OPENS UP THE STORE!

At no time, did I feel it was hurry up and go. I tried to relay some sense of gratitude, but I feel more is necessary. Not only did I get our strings, but on a deeper level, I had an extremely awesome example to share with Kyle on our drive home, about the right way to treat people.

Thanks again! Happy music to all.

I brought my son in to your shop a few months ago, he had a school project on marketing and he picked guitars.  One of your people took time to help him, answer his questions and really listened to him.  We came back a few times to "dream" about a better guitar for my son and last week we bought a Fender, his dream come true.  We got a great deal and more importantly, found a local business more interested in keeping the customer happy than making a sale.

Thanks and keep up the good work

    - Steve (from St. Paul)
