GuitarZone offers lessons in
guitar, bass, and percussion. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced
player, you will benefit from the excellent instruction you'll receive at
GuitarZone. Our instructors emphasize technique, musicality, and performance
skills.
Instructors
Ron Cary (guitar)
Ron’s first major musical experience began when
he joined the Metropolitan Boys Choir at the age of 8. Within his first
three years with the group, Ron was asked to sing with the primary choir while
it toured Europe. After graduating from Anoka High School in 2003 with ten years
of stage experience, he was a highly sought-after rock/funk musician. The most
noteworthy bands Ron shared his talents with were Riff and the popular
band No Alibi. Currently, Ron is attending college and promoting his
latest musical endeavors.
Rick Little (guitar)
Originally from Alabama,
Rick has taught guitar for over 20 years. He played professionally for three
years in a Top-40 rock band and currently plays in his church’s praise and
worship group. He’s been a youth pastor and worked in children’s ministries. In
addition to his teaching duties, he serves as a patrol officer supervisor at
Bethel College. He and his wife are the proud parents of a 5-year-old daughter.
Scott Fraser (guitar)
A native Minnesotan, Scott has been performing and teaching guitar
since 1968. His reputation as a guitar virtuoso as well as a brilliant
instructor is known throughout the Midwest. Scott has taught at Wagener Music,
R&W Music, Suneson Music, West Bank School of Music, Guild of Performing Arts,
The Podium, Groth Music, Schmitt Music, Mainstreet Music, Reynolds Music, and
Metropolitan and Normandale Community Colleges. He's played with numerous groups
and as a solo performer. He enjoys blues, country bluegrass, folk, rock,
pop, rhythm and blues, jazz and classical guitar.
Ron Wilson (guitar)
Ron has over 18 years of guitar teaching
experience with the Anoka-Hennepin Community Schools program. He attended the
University of Minnesota/Duluth and Anoka-Ramsey Community College, majoring in
music theory and composition. He has over 15 years of band experience, including
some studio work. He enjoys rock, blues, and worship music. He teaches beginning
and intermediate acoustic or electric guitar students.
Nick Greenwald (guitar)
Nick is a Blaine High
School graduate who has 11 years of guitar playing experience in jazz, rock and
blues bands. He recently completed his first solo album. He attended Concordia
College for 2 1/2 years, majoring in music theory and composition until
transferring to Music Tech in St. Paul, majoring in songwriting and music
business.
Enrique Ponticas (bass)
Enrique was born in
Santiago, Chile. Coming from a musical family, he began playing guitar at the
age of 10 and started playing upright and electric bass soon after. He studied
upright bass in the Catholic University Conservatory with the first bassist of
the Symphonic Orchestra of Santiago, Music pedagogy at the University of Chile
and after moving to United States, electric bass and Jazz improvisation at
Berklee College of Music in Boston. He worked as a professional musician for
several years in the Twin Cities, playing in Top 40, Rock, Jazz and Latin bands
and doing studio work as well.
Shawn Kolles (percussion)

Daytime and evening times
available. Lesson fees are $18 - $22 per session (30 minutes). Lessons are
payable by the month to GuitarZone, and may be paid by cash, check, or credit
card.
